"That movement is what I'm after. It's good fun."

In addition to the forward's six goals on his first game, Ireland has scored 8 in three games for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored 5 on his first appearance and Lescott, a defender by trade, notched a hat-trick in one game up front.

"We really haven't ceased talking about it - I was calling my mum and brother on the journey home.

"The opponents were all really nice, shaking our hands after the match - it was like facing a bunch of regular fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the second fixture."
